Through support for high-resolution formats, such as FLAC and DSD, the app unlocks enhanced functionality when paired with a compatible TEAC USB-DAC. This collaboration allows for native playback of various high-resolution formats, including FLAC and DSD, elevating the listening experience.

The TEAC HR Audio Player Unlocker, available as a separate paid app, extends the app's capabilities by enabling native playback of high-resolution formats even with USB-DAC devices not manufactured by TEAC.

Utilizing the advanced features of TEAC HR Audio Player, users can also customize their audio experience by fine-tuning settings with a high-precision equalizer. Additionally, support for standard formats like MP3 and AAC ensures a versatile playback range tailored to individual preferences.

Moreover, the app includes a dynamic graphic equalizer that offers up to 16,384 bands for adjustment and allows users to save and load up to 1000 equalizer curves. The linear-phase FIR filter further enhances the audio quality by minimizing phase distortion, providing users with the flexibility to customize sound without compromising quality.

For seamless integration with external devices, users can utilize an OTG cable to digitally connect compatible devices like portable amplifiers from TEAC. This connection unlocks high-resolution playback features capable of supporting PCM 192kHz/24-bit and DSD 5.6MHz files.

The app boasts a range of functions including a high-precision graphic equalizer, automatic upsampling, crossfade playback options, album artwork and lyrics display, repeat/shuffle playback modes, and easy playlist creation. Noteworthy features also include real-time DSD conversion and compatibility with device volume controls.

In terms of supported formats, TEAC HR Audio Player covers MP3/AAC (up to 48kHz), DSF/DSDIFF (up to 11.2MHz), FLAC/ALAC/WAV/AIFF (up to 384kHz), and Ogg Vorbis (up to 192kHz).

When unlocked, files with resolutions exceeding 88.2kHz will be downsampled to ensure optimal performance. However, DRM-protected files are not supported for playback.

It should be noted that certain restrictions apply when outputting DSD formats using DoP, such as disabled equalizer and crossfade functions and hidden frequency responses.

Language support includes English, French, German, Japanese, and Chinese (simplified/traditional), with compatibility requirements ranging from Android 4.1 to Android 7.0. Please keep in mind that not all devices may guarantee full operation with the app.
